The world of roller skating

“Rolling” Into Spring

Spring has officially sprung and I’m so excited to see and welcome the new life that’s blossoming and emerging. The flowers, grass, birds and tree buds are making their appearances. Insects an other animals are awakening from their hibernation. This is also our time for spring cleaning and giving our homes a thorough cleaning. Out with the old and in with the new!

I find that this is also a time for me to re-organize my priorities, thoughts and plans for the rest of the year. I find that I’m energized and ready to implement new ideas. So, this brings me to —–introducing my new vision of photo chronicling some of my everyday activities and experiences, while on my roller skates. You will be able to follow me on Twitter @lacesandwheels and Instagram: lacesandwheels.

IMG_2665This is a fun and quirky way for me to document my experiences and activities through pictures and continue to demonstrate my passion for rollerskating. Rollerskating is so much apart of who I am, that it’s just natural for me to think about wearing my roller skates like I would my own pair of shoes. My friend Rosalyn called me the modern day “Tootie.” For those who are old enough to remember the sitcom “The Facts of Life” you know that Kim Fields’ character, Tootie, was always wearing her roller skates wherever she went. But, here is a little trivia fact for you—- I once saw an interview Kim Fields gave and she said that the producers of the show had her wear the roller skates, to give her more height. She was shorter than her other castmates and they wanted her to be the same height as they were…..pretty interesting right?!

Some of you may think that what I’m doing is pretty interesting as well but that’s probably putting it lightly. Let me rephrase that, some of you are probably shaking and scratching your heads and saying this woman is crazy! And I would say, “Yeah—-crazy about rollerskating!”

So, start following me on Twitter and Instagram and I guarantee, you will find my quirky rollerskating pictures amusing, and slightly unbelievable, but in a humorous way. It will be interesting to see where I show up next and what I’ll be up to on my rollerskates. Stay tuned and…roll bounce, baby!
